Benedict S. Wiatrek February 10, 1932 –April 27, 2022 Benedict was born to Stanik and Theresa (Olenick) Wiatrek in Kosciusko, Texas February 10, 1932. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Lorraine L. Kotzur, his parents and brother, John. Benedict graduated from Poth High School and was a US Navy veteran. He was a 1958 charter member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church. Ben had a refrigeration and air conditioning career with Handy Andy Supermarkets and Arnold Refrigeration until his retirement in 1997. He enjoyed family reunions, spending time in the country and visiting with neighbors and friends. Dad instilled upon his family faith in God, the benefits of education, hard work, saving for good times and bad, dedication to marriage/family/ friends and to take nothing for granted. Papo was a loving grandfather, always taking interest in his grandchildren’s activities, faith and education. He and his countless family stories will be missed and always loved. He is survived by his sons: Randy(Carol) Wiatrek (Allen, TX), Wayne Wiatrek ( Houston, TX), Gary(Yvette)Wiatrek (Katy, TX) grandchildren: Valerie(Matthew)Houdek, (Saginaw, TX) Sarah(Peter)Wood (The Woodlands, TX) Katherine Wiatrek(Dallas TX) Gregory Wiatrek (Washington DC), and great granddaughter: Emma Grace Houdek. Sisters: Elizabeth (Adron d.) Oliver, Mary Wiatrek, Rose (Jerry d.) Labus, Doris (Johnny) Rizzo, Alice (Allen d.) May, Sister Carol Wiatrek, Magdalen (John d.)Wiatrek and 23 nieces and nephews. Thanks to all who watched over Dad for many years, especially his sisters, Mrs. Angie Luna, the Wallish family, the Mary Jarzombek family, Sisters Care and the Village at Incarnate Word. Visitation at Dellcrest Funeral Home May 10 at 5:00 pm. Rosary at 6:30 pm. Funeral Mass May 11 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Burial to follow in Falls City, Texas.
