Charlcye Hardwick

Charlcye Hardwick of San Antonio Texas passed away on Thursday March 3, 2022 at the age of 89 after a long battle with Alzheimers. She is survived by her husband, George W. Hardwick; her children Gary Hardwick, Kent Hardwick and Linda Hardwick; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her son, Bobby Hardwick. Charlcye was a very successful businesswoman with a strong work ethic, who began her career at Sears & Roebuck as an administrative assistant and worked her way up to a Regional Director in charge of several stores in Southern Texas. But she never allowed her aspirations in work to interfere with her time and devotion to her family. As an incredible cook and baker, her family has shared many conversations about their favorite dishes and recipes. Charlcye was also an amazing seamstress – she could sew just about anything, which was perfect considering the years that her husband worked in the fabric and textile industry. She made clothes for herself and her family that rivaled high quality designer clothes. But her real talent was when she took up quilting upon retiring from Sears. Her quilts won awards and some were valued at thousands of dollars. But what Charlcye was most well known for was her relationship to God and her devotion to her faith as a Christian. This faith was how she was able to create a life, a family and a legacy of love. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Services will be help Tuesday March 8th 2022 at 11am Mission Park North Funeral Home, located at 3401 Cherry Ridge, San Antonio TX 78230.
