Dorothy Jean Shubert

March 31, 1938 - February 21, 2022

Dorothy Jean Shubert born in San Antonio, Texas on March 31, 1938; went to be with the Lord on February 21, 2022; at the age of 83. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Vernie B. Shubert, Sr., 2 brothers Harry and Gilbert Henze, and parents Rudolph and Louise Henze. Survivors include her loving sons Vernie B. Shubert, Jr., Val Shubert and Vincent L. Shubert, 3 brothers Bobby, Rick, and Leroy Henze, 1 grandchild Trevor Shubert, and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and friends. Dorothy loved taking trips to the beach in Rock Port, TX, she loved going to her favorite restaurant Nichas, and loved taking care of kids and just being around her family and friends. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church since 1975 and started working at the church’s daycare in 1981 and retired in 2016. Her interests included family, cooking, crossword puzzles, watching her favorite western movies. She could watch “Walk the Line” and “Coal Miner’s Daughter” and never get tired of them. “Until We Meet Again” Visitation will begin on Monday, March 21, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
