    December 1, 1928 - March 20, 2022

    Elvira Uriegas Casas December 1, 1928-March 20, 2022 Elvira Uriegas Casas, 93 passed from this life on March 20, 2022 with her family by her side. She was born December 1, 1928 in Losoya, Texas. The daughter of Santiago Uriegas and Maria Isabel Huron Uriegas. Granddaughter of Juan Uriegas and Justa Villagran de Uriegas, Almaquio Huron and Felisa Valdez de Huron. She was a direct descendant of Christoval Carvajal member of the First families of the Presidio de San Antonio de Bexar in 1718. A member of the Native American Diaz family who lived at Mission San Jose. Always proud to be eleventh generation Tejana. She is preceded in death by her husband (Nicolas) of 68 years and her son Nicolas Casas, Jr. Her parents Santiago and Maria Isabel Uriegas. Sisters: Teresa U. Perez, Corina U, Lara and brothers: Gualberto, Roberto, Filberto, Alberto, and Norbeto Uriegas. She is survived by daughter Linda U. Casas, grandson Nicolas Matthew Casas, granddaughter Lauren Casas, and daughter in law Debbie, and brother Gilberto Uriegas (Dorothy). A special thanks to nephew Ben Lara for his endless help. A host of nieces and nephews and friends. A strong women who fought bravely throughout her illness. A devout Catholic who prayed her rosary everyday and was member of Mission San Jose Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing and quilting and was known for her delicious cooking. She worked at Patio Foods and the Lackland laundry for many years. She has left beautiful memories which lead a path to our hearts. Services Visitation will be held Friday, April 1, 2022 from 12pm to 8pm with the Holy Rosary to begin at 6pm Brookehill Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Mission San Jose Catholic Church at 10am, followed by interment at Mission Burial Park South.
