Ernestine Garza

May 10, 1930 - February 11, 2022

Our beloved sister, aunt, and friend Ernestine Garza entered eternal rest peacefully in Katy, Texas on February 11, 2022 at the age of 91. Ernestine "Ernie" was born in San Antonio, Texas to Joe Gonzaba Arriola and Amelia Gonzales Arriola. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pedro “Pete” Garza Jr.; her siblings, Viola Mendoza, Joe Jr., James, Arthur, and Estella Rodriguez. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her brother-in-law, Aaron Mendoza Jr., and sister-in-law, Susie Arriola; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family members. The family would like to recognize and thank Mr. Mendoza for taking care of their beloved aunt during the last years of her life. Ernestine worked as a bookkeeper before marrying the love of her life. Pete and Ernie were married for 46 years while residing in the Sunny Slope neighborhood of San Antonio. They both attended and were active members of St. Catherine Catholic Church down the street from their residence. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Mission Park Funeral Chapel South and a funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Mission Burial Park South.
