    George Tays

    May 21, 1953 - April 28, 2022

    George Tays passed away on April 28, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on May 21, 1953 in Laredo, Texas to Fernando Tays and Ernestina Gamboa. Mr. Tays was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Fernando Jr., Raymundo and Alejandro Tays. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Dora Davila Tays; daughter, Debra L. Tays (Joe Alfred Ochoa); sons, George E. Tays and Jason Proulx; sisters, Juanita Ramos (Leonel), Evangelina Martinez (Robert Puente), Guadalupe Reyes (Juan); brothers, Armando Tays (Concepcion), Francisco Tays (Linda), Roberto Tays (Maria); grandchildren, Dallas Nathaniel Ochoa; step-grandchildren, Dylan and Lauren Ochoa; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. George was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a dear friend to many and would take the shirt off his back at any time to help others. George truly had a heart of gold. He was often there as a shoulder to cry on, to listen, and to help others during rough times. George is a true testament of resilience and perseverance, overcoming many battles throughout his lifetime. He will always be remembered as the life of every party. George has touched many souls, been an impact to many, and will deeply be missed by all family and friends who knew him. SERVICES Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 6:00pm-9:00pm, with a Rosary at 7:00pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 2:00pm at St. Luke’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North.
