Georgia E. (Eileen) Duerr, 81, of San Antonio, Texas for the past 34 year, past away of natural causes in hospice care at 10 PM on April 17, 2022. Eileen was born in Indianhead, Pennsylvania on October 24, 1940, the daughter of Warren and Beulah (Anderson) Breakiron. Eileen graduated from Connellsville High School with the class of 1959. She joined the U.S. Air Force in April 1966 where she met her future husband. Eileen and Fred J. Duerr of Algona, Iowa, were married in the base chapel at Offutt Air Force Base, Omaha, Nebraska, on October 22, 1966. She was honorably discharged in June 1966 when her husband was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. They were married for 55 years. During there career in the Air Force, Eileen and family traveled to many interesting places in the U.S. and European countries. After Fred's retirement in 1987, they returned to San Antonio, Texas. At that time, she started working at Social Security, the Office on Hearing and Appeals. She worked hard and reached the position of Legal Assistant. She retired in 2003 and devoted her free time to gardening and RVing in their motorhome. She loved both equally well. Eileen was an exceptional mother to their two sons, a loving partner to her husband and an outstanding homemaker. She enjoyed reading cookbooks and excelled in entertaining family and friends with her culinary skills. Fred survives her passing along with her two sons Michael T. Duerr and Stephen F. Duerr, two granddaughters, the love of her life, Brooklyn and Riley Duerr, all of San Antonio Texas. Eileen was preceded by her parents Warren and Beulah Breakiron, brothers James and Charles Breakiron of Indianhead, Pennsylvania, and her sister and brother in law Ruth Ann and Cecil R. Huff of Plymouth, Indiana. Family and friends visitation will be at Mission Park on Cherry Ridge from 7:00 to 8:00 PM on May 4th 2022. Interment will be private at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on May 5th 2022 starting at 10:15 AM. A chaplain will be officiating the Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contribution be made to The American Cancer Society in the memory of Georgia E. Duerr.
