Gloria Garza

Gloria Garza (90) was born July 9, 1931 in San Antonio, TX. She went to be with our Lord on February 04, 2022 in San Antonio, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tomas and Mary Solorio; husband, Ernesto A. Garza; son, Rogelio Garza, sisters, Guadalupe Ramos, Carmen Solorio, Consuelo Cortez, Eleanor Perez, Mary Stoltz and Esperanza Suarez; brother, Raymond Solorio. She is survived by her children, Annette Mata, Ernest Garza, Richard Garza, Reynaldo Garza, Robert Garza, Rodolfo Garza and Roland Garza; sister, Ruth Gonzales and brother, Tomas Solorio; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Gloria was loved by many and will be deeply missed. At 90 years of age, Gloria Solorio “Lola” Garza showed us what a fighter she was and lived a beautiful long life. Gloria was married to Ernesto Garza for 62 years until his passing in November of 2012. Together they had 7 sons and one daughter. In her younger years she was a seamstress, she made bridesmaid dresses for family weddings, celebrations, and costumes. She also loved to crochet and knit. Gloria even had a green thumb. She loved planting rose bushes and always received compliments on the big Alocasia “elephant ears” she had in her front yard. She was passionate about music and dancing, playing her Johnny Mathis, Eydie Gorme and Los Panchos and Nat king Cole records all the time. Gloria raised her children while her husband was overseas; helping to care for her grandchildren too. Gloria loved having her children, 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren at her home. It made her so happy to have family over for spurs and cowboy games, especially holidays. Gloria was a loving, warm soul that welcomed all and always made you feel at home. She will be missed by all those blessed to have known her.
