March 15, 1930 - December 28, 2021
Guadalupe T. Granado, 91, entered into eternal glory early Tuesday morning, December 28, 2021, at home under the care of her children. Lupita, as she was endearingly known, was born on March 15, 1930, in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas. She was naturally energetic as a caring mother to her seven children. Hardly seen without a smile, there was always room in her home and enough bean-and-cheese tacos to feed her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She enjoyed her novelas and cafecito with pan dulce, which she often hid so no one else would eat it. Mindful of impressions and always carefully manicured, she never underestimated the power of a good daily moisturizer. However, it was her giving heart that made her radiant, softening the delivery of her sharp wit and cheeky humor. At family gatherings, you would find her at the center of attention, beaming with pride as nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by those she loved. She spent her whole life dedicated to her family-her most cherished legacy. Preceded in death by her late husband Julian Granado, (1997); she is survived by her seven children and their spouses: Julian Granado (Rose Mary), Martha Rocha (Jose†), Albert Granado (Lupe), Rosario Tobias (Jorge), Elsa Gomez (Robert), Susana Alvarez, Maria Guadalupe Herrera (Richard); 24 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Services in celebration of her life will be held at Mission Park North (3401 Cherry Ridge, San Antonio, Texas, 78230), on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, from 5:00–8:00PM, with the rosary at 7:00PM. Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 10:00AM, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church (1201 Castroville Road, San Antonio, Texas, 78237) and cemetery to follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the wonderful people that cared for her at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital Westover Hills and Trinity Hospice.
