    Hortencia G. Ramirez

    January 10, 1933 - February 15, 2022

Our beloved Mom, Hortencia Garcia Ramirez, went to be with her Lord; our Savior Jesus Christ on February 15, 2022. She is survived by her son Marcos A. Ramirez, son and daughter-in-laws Amos and Robin Ramirez, Abel and Sherrie Ramirez, and daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Jed Bredemus, grand-daughters, Leah, Brittany, Ashlynn, and Faith, grand-sons, Tyler, Jacob, Brandon, Daniel, David, Cole, McClaine, Preston, great-grand-daughter, Aella, and great-grand-sons, Eli and Maximus. Born in Angleton, TX, and the youngest of thirteen siblings, her mother passed away while Hortencia was at a young age. She grew up in a rural setting with all her older siblings. She later attended Pres-Mex, a Presbyterian girl’s boarding school for Mexican-American girls, in Taft, TX. She met her husband, Armando, at the Primera Iglesia Bautista (First Baptist Mexican Church) in San Antonio, TX at a church social. She and Armando married on September 2, 1960 and enjoyed 61 years of marriage. She was the cornerstone of her household, with her shared values of Christian faith, family, and serving the Lord. She loved her family very much, and wanted the very best for them, in accordance with God’s will. She enjoyed working in the Lord’s ministry in many capacities of service such as pastor’s wife, teacher, administration, director, and pianist. She attended, along with her husband Armando, the Mexican Baptist Bible Institute in San Antonio, TX (what is currently the Baptist University of the Americas), and achieved accolade success in her studies and participation in the Institute’s music ministry. She endeared herself to always seek to do right in the eyes of the Lord, and committed herself to providing a household that was a strong Christian home refuge. She enjoyed her last years together with her beloved husband, Armando, sharing their close love with each other, fellowshipping daily with their son and daughter-in-law, Amos and Robin, along with warm family reflections and visits with their other children and family. Family and friends will gather for a celebration of her life at 3:00pm, Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Fred J. Tips Chapel at Mission Park Funeral Chapels and Cemetery Dominion, 20900 IH 10 W. San Antonio, TX 78257.
