Jack A. White, age 96 years, passed away on October 29, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. Born in Memphis, Hall County, Texas on December 13, 1923, he moved to the rural community of Midway near Eldorado, Oklahoma at an early age and started his education at the midway School District’s two room school house. He later moved to Nocona, Texas and graduated from Nocona High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1943. He served 32 months aboard the USS Cimarron, AO-22, in the Pacific theater of operations during WWII and then attended Texas Tech, graduating with a BBA degree in Business Management. He started his career in insurance claims with Texas Employers Insurance Association in 1951 and worked in various Texas locations. He began working for USAA in 1961 and retired after 26 ½ years. He married Nevada Joy Oglesby in 1950 and they raised their family while moving about Texas. Regretfully for all, the marriage ended in divorce. Jack enjoyed collecting coins, photography and C&W music. He was an avid fan of horse racing, especially so of the Breeders Cup and Triple Crown races. He enjoyed making trips to Las Vegas. Jack was preceded in death by his father, Spencer Albert White, his mother, Mattye Bell Cassels White, his brother, James Wilford White, and son-in-law, Robert Stanley Biedrzycki II. Survivors include close friend and travel companion, Patricia L. Ritchey; three children, Patricia Linn Hyde and husband Ron, Jack A. White Jr. and wife Yvonne, and Judith Ann Biedrzycki; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Emily, Vanessa, Adam, Bobby, Caitlyn, and Ben; and four great-grandchildren, Caroline, Eloise, Camilla , and Camryn. A graveside funeral service will take place on Friday, November 6, 2020, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and the service at 11:00 a.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels & Cemetery Dominion, 20900 IH 10 West, San Antonio, Texas.
