    Jeanne Evelyn Allen

    October 14, 1933 - May 3, 2022

Jeanne Evelyn Allen, age 88, of Adkins, Texas, passed away peacefully in the late morning hours of Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at her home, after a brief battle with complications from a stroke. Jeanne was born on October 14, 1933, in San Benito, Texas to the late Oliver Calvert and Elouise Letitia Sills Baggett. Jeanne was married to the love of her life, and her best friend, William Allen, for 32 years before his passing on December 24, 2012. She worked for AT&T for more than 30 years. Jeanne was a Baptist by faith but didn’t need a church to see the beauty of the Lord’s work. She was an award-winning painter who loved watercolor and oil painting and specialized in painting landscapes, the River Walk in San Antonio, and portraits of her beloved cats. People from all over the world purchased paintings, and though they treasured their art, most of them remembered Jeanne more for her laugh and her smile. Everyone who had to privilege of knowing Jeanne, loved her. Jeanne will be missed by many for generations to come. Jeanne is survived by two daughters, Joyce Suzanne Ducote, and husband Mark, of Erwinville, Louisiana, and Jeanne Elouise Everitt, of Dadeville, Alabama; one sister, Doris Dunn, and husband William, of Rye, Texas; grandchildren, Matthew Thayer Ducote, Cassandra Noel Quatrevingt, and husband Earl, all of Erwinville, Louisiana, Christopher Everitt, and wife Jessica, of Knoxville, Tennessee, Jennifer Alexander, and husband David, of Alexander City, Alabama, and Carie Queen, and husband Daniel, of Dadeville, Alabama; great-grandchildren, Earl Quatrevingt, Jr. and Carolyn Carlita Lane Pellegram; nieces, Pamela Moore of Loranger, Louisiana, and Elizabeth Morrison, and husband Larry, of Corpus Christi, Texas; nephews, Lanny Lutes, and wife Carol, of Rye, Texas and Patrick Lutes of Splendora, Texas; one beloved dog, Bella; and by a host of other relatives and very special friends. Jeanne was also preceded in death by one grandson, Mark Stephen Ducote, Jr. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
