Johnny Edward Rodriguez, age 69, entered into rest on October 29, 2021. He was born on August 31, 1952 in San Antonio, TX. He was a graduate of Burbank High School and a graduate of Career Academy in Dental Technology in Houston, Texas. He went on to earn his Certified Dental Technology certification from the University of Texas Health Science Center. He worked at Oral Prosthetics and Percision Dental Laboratory. In 1984, Johnny co-founded and became Vice-President of Authentic Dental Laboratory until 2003. Johnny played at the 1968 World’s Fair, HemisFair ’68 with his band The Fabulous Jestics. This was the beginning of a life long love affair with music. He was known affectionately by family and friends as “Johnny Rod” and “Johnny Hot Rod." Johnny served as a music minister, a Eucharistic Minister and was part of the Knights of Columbus at St Dominics Catholic Church. Johnny was a major contributor in bringing the Men’s A.C.T.S. retreat to St Dominic’s. He continued to serve the A.C.T.S. Community as a team member, retreat director, and also served on Core. He was preceded in death by his parents Johnny Rodriguez and Eloise Flores Rodriguez; brother-in-law Richard Montoya. He is survived by his loving wife Cynthia Santiago Rodriguez; son Johnny E. Rodriguez Jr. (Veronica Rodriguez); daughter Mary Lentz (Daniel Lentz); son Matthew Rodriguez (Valerie Rodriguez); sister Tina Montoya; brothers Gilbert Rodriguez (Sylvia Rodriguez) and Raymond Rodriguez (Gina Rodriguez) and Guadalupe Santiago (dear sister-in-law). He is also survived by grandchildren Emily, Ethan, Jackson, Tristan and Vincent; many other family members and friends. He was loved by all and will be deeply missed. PALM HEIGHTS MORTUARY 3711 S.
