SMSgt Jose R. Gutierrez USAF (Ret)

March 11, 1931 - May 14, 2022

SMSgt. Jose R. Gutierrez, USAF (Ret.), 91, passed away on May 14th 2022. He was born March 11th 1931 in Wetmore TX, the son of the late Francisco and Mercedez Gutierrez. Jose proudly served in the U.S. Army and USAF and was a veteran of the Vietnam and Korean War. He retired after 26 yrs of dedicated service and was awarded numerous military honors with his highest achievement being the Distinguished Flying Cross. He is survived by his wife of 40 yrs Anunciacion “Arlene”; daughters Annie Mae Wright, Debbie Flores (Daniel), Brenda Gutierrez (Desiree), Liza Dokken (Chris) and Fe Bryan (Mark), sons Roland Gutierrez (Eskarlet), Michael Gutierrez, his brothers Richard and George (Espevia), sisters Virginia and Helen Campos (Phillip), 10 Grandchildren and 3 great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Stella “Blanche” Thompson. He was incredibly loved, one of a kind and will be sorely missed. Visitation and Rosary will be at 5 pm, Thurs. May 26th at Mission Park Funeral (3401 Cherry Ridge, San Antonio TX 78230). Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, Fri. May 27th at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church (202 W Kronkosky St, Boerne TX 78006).
