June 26, 1943 - January 19, 2022
Juanita (Andrada) Perez,78, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home surrounded by loving family on January 19, 2022 in San Antonio, TX. Juanita was born on June 26, 1943 in San Marcos, TX to Candelário and Beatrice (Gonzalez) Andrada. Juanita was a hard-working woman. Even on her days off, if she wasn’t sewing or crafting, you’d find her in the kitchen cooking. Juanita also loved to bake, especially around the holidays. There was not a Christmas that would not go by, that she did not call her kids and loved ones telling them to go by and pick up banana bread or bunuelos. As you would approach her front door you would be greeted with not only the amazing smells of Juanita’s homemade food, you would also be introduced to her other love…music! She would be singing and dancing moving her shoulders up and down as she’s making her famous homemade tortillas. The radio would be playing so loud, that you could hear her favorite artists performing as you walked in from the driveway. Musicians like Jimmy Gonzalez, Michael Salgado, Vicente Fernandez would be escorting you to a lovely meeting with a beautiful woman, who had an amazing ability to carry on a conversation over the music. Though the walk to your front door is no longer the same, the smells of food has faded, the sounds of music have quieted. We are grateful for the memories shared and life lessons you have taught. It is these moments that will stay with us all. Juanita’s life was full. She had the opportunity to be a great wife, loving mother, grandma, great-grandma, Tia, and friend. She loved her children and adored her grandchildren and would not hesitate to help any one out. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Genaro H. Perez; parents, Candelario and Beatrice (Gonzalez) Andrada; her brothers, Mike and Joe Andrada; children, Steven Longoria, and daughter Mary Ann Herrera; grandson, Anthony Herrera. She is survived by her sons, Joey Longoria (Sandra), Genaro Perez, Carlos Perez (Diana); Grandchildren Rojelio, Ezekiel, Elizabeth, Crystal; Stephanie, Ashley; John, Joe Jr, Andrea; Brianna, Kimberly, Cassandra, Gia, Emerald; Esperanza; numerous great grandchildren, niece, nephews, her longtime friend Isidro Guerrero and extended family. We thought she would live forever, With her independent spirit, strong character, and sense of humor. Even though you flew away, in my soul you will forever stay……. Juanita we will all miss you dearly. Visitation will be Monday, February 7, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South.
