Lupe C. Vasquez
November 2, 1933 - February 2, 2022
Lupe C. Vasquez born on November 2, 1933 in San Antonio, Texas entered into rest on February 2, 2022 at the age of 88 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arturo Vasquez and is survived by her daughters, Bertha Duran, Josie Vasquez (Fred Rhinehart), Christine Vasquez (husband Eddie); sons, Richard Vasquez (wife Charlotte), Albert C. Vasquez (wife Susan); sisters, Dolores “Lola” Guzy and Mary Medina, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom dedicated herself to family, church, and community. Mom ran the household seamlessly when dad had to fulfill his Civil Service TDY commitments overseas and she made sure all her children did not miss school or sporting events. She was always there for her children and grandchildren’s sporting events to be hands down the biggest and loudest fan. She also volunteered her time at the fields and concession stands to assure that baseball and football programs were available for all children in the neighborhood. She filled everyone’s life around her with love and joy and lots of meals. Mom’s cooking was well known and widely savored by all. There were even stories of the neighbor Louella running across the street for buttered homemade tortillas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the Alamo Funeral Chapels. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2.
