Madeline Hantske Walthall passed away on December 16, 2021 in Houston, Texas. She was born in Anderson, South Carolina on October 17, 1933 to William George Hantske and Madeline Horres Hantske. Mrs. Walthall was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ret. Col. Eugene Walthall, Jr.; sister, Ethel Foreman; and brother, William George (Bill) Hantske, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Leonidas Faith Walthall-Brown (Doug); son, Robert Eugene Walthall (Sharon); grandchildren, Tyler Larkin Walthall (Amanda); Kristen Lee McElhaney, Stuart Austin McElhaney (Macy); James Merton Brown (Amanda), Alexandra Brown Baker; great-grandchildren, Connor Logan McElhaney, Kyndall Riley McElhaney, Mason Scott Baker, Andrew Drake Brown, Perry Larkin Walthall and baby Walthall on the way, and a host of beloved nieces, nephews and their families. Madeline was passionate about her family, her students, and her friends. She was an Air Force wife and spoke several languages fluently. She enjoyed gardening, a great party and was a very competitive Bridge player. She worked with handicapped children and taught 4th grade and 8th grade special education in the SAISD. Her husband and she were active in their churches wherever they lived; she loved and was devoted to her current church, Leon Springs Presbyterian Church, and was prayerful and steadfast in her faith. SERVICES Visitation will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Chapel Service will be on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 10:00am at the funeral home chapel.
