Maria Nelly Pagan May 8, 1952 - October 19, 2021 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.” - Proverbs 3:5 NLT Maria Nelly Pagan, age 69, went to be with Jesus on October 19, 2021. Nelly was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was born in the small town of Barranquitas, Puerto Rico to Carmelo and Carlota Pagan. Nelly was the 5th child of 8 and was very loved and respected amongst her siblings. She will be greatly missed by her surviving siblings; sisters, Lile, Bethzaida, and Norma; brothers, Jose Juan and Manuel Pagan. Nelly’s greatest desire was to show this world the love of God in everything and anything that she touched. In her cooking, speaking, teaching, and giving she always demonstrated his love and grace. She absolutely loved the Lord with all her heart and lived her life in a such a way that it was apparent to all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of over 27 years, Efrain Sepulveda, who she met at a church event via a mutual friend. Nelly was blessed both biologically and through marriage with 7 children, 25 grandchildren. The former mentioned are Adolfo Alvarado (Angela), Isaac, Kathy, Cheito, Aleysha, Ivan. Ruth Canales (Juan), Destani, Tito, Carmelo, Gaby. Jose Alvarado (Ruth), Andrea, Jobany, Pedro. Elifelet Sepulveda, Tony, and Pipo. Hildelisa Bermudez (Jose), Rose, Titier, Chachi, Lydia. Abdiel Sepulveda, Junito, Abel, Bebo, Lily. Carmen Sepulveda (Luis Medina), Tiry, Saeli, Mhya. Nelly was also blessed with 11 great grandchildren. Nelly was a member of Iglesia de Dios Central de San Antonio under Pastor Montañez and First Lady Socorro. There she served the ministry as a Sunday school teacher, choir member and women’s ministry volunteer. Nelly will be greatly missed by the many that she served and loved. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021 from 5:30 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 6:30 P.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 11:30 A.M. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. In accordance with CDC safety precautions, everyone is required to wear a mask and practice social distancing in the chapel and at the cemetery. There will be a 40 person maximum allowed in the chapel for the funeral service. We thank you in advance for your understanding.
