    Martha “Marty” Villanueva

    July 9, 1940 - April 9, 2022

Martha “Marty” Villanueva beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on April 9, 2022 at 81. Martha lived a joyful life full of love, compassion, and laughter. Bringing light to everyone she met, whether during her career as a nurse, meeting with friends at the YMCA, or in her community. To Martha no one was a stranger. Her home was always filled with family, friends, and friends who became family. She found great happiness in cooking and keeping her loved ones fed and laughing. Martha was thrilled to travel the world with Mike, her beloved husband of 56 years, always excited to make new memories and even more new friends. Martha was an adoring wife and mother and the love she had for her grandchildren and great grandchildren was unmeasurable. Martha was preceded in death by her parents and brothers. She leaves behind her children Michelle Villanueva, Mary Alice (Alex) Rodriguez, and Wanda (Tom) Proctor; Loving grandchildren Caitlin, Michael, Callista and Cassidy Cowin (Connor), their father, Michael Cowin, Ian (Phyllis) and Addison (Janay) Garcia, Matthew (Vanessa) Rodriguez, Stephanie and Charles (Christina) Stuart; and 9 beautiful great grandchildren along with a multitude of loving friends, family and neighbors. Visitation will begin on Sunday, May 8, 2022 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that you send plants or donate in her name to SNIPSA.
