Newton Barta Sr.

November 20, 1940 - May 18, 2022

Newton A. Barta, Sr. entered eternal rest on May 18, 2022, at the age of 81. He was born on November 20, 1940 in Cameron, Texas to Alfred and Alberta (Hollis) Barta. Newton is survived by his son, Newton Jr. and his wife Karissa; siblings, Barbara Bridges, James Barta, and Sandy Lawrence; grandchildren, Kylie, Hayden, Trey, and Langston; other loving family members and friends. If you knew Newton, he could repair anything. It could be a car, lawnmower, chainsaw, tractor, or anything that a had motor, and stuff that didn’t. He enjoyed putting life back into things that were broken or antiques. He also collected old antique hit and miss engines and enjoyed going to antique farm and tractor shows. NASCAR was one of his favorite things to watch on TV along with old westerns, the news and weather. One of the most absolutely favorite things he loved to do was visit his grandchildren and spend time with them. He led a simple life, but had a special passion for helping someone out with something that was in need of repair. If he had a super power this would be it. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 9:30 A.M. with a funeral service to be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South.
