July 23, 1966 - February 6, 2022
Ovidio Omar Zuniga “Obi-Wan Konobe” brought light into this world on Saturday, July 23, 1966, and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 6th, 2022 at the age of 55. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Juan Berrones, his grandmother, Manuela Berrones , his father, Nicolas Zuniga, and his uncle, Hector Berrones. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Zuniga of 32 years, his two sons, Matthew (Melody) and Timothy (Katie) Zuniga, his mother, Gloria Robles, his brothers, Mario (Teresa), Joe, (Veronica) and Rene, his sister Haydee (Clive), and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Ovi was a selfless, caring and tenderhearted man. He loved serving his neighbors, family and friends, including strangers in need. He would bend over backwards to help anyone in need. Ovi was also a man of few words, but his words were profound and full of wisdom. He was a BBQ pit master, a ceviche aficionado, and an aspiring bourbon connoisseur alongside his sons. Ovi loved fishing. He could sit for hours on end without a single bite, but if the right company was present, he would declare it the best fishing trip ever. Ovi was great with his hands; this was his gift. He could repair and fix all things with the collection of his tools and sheer desire. If he didn’t know how, he would learn how. He could flip a house, repair a car, and restore guitars. Ovi became a guitar repair expert in his later years, where he had an accumulation of over 40 guitars, over 10 guitar amps, countless cases, and every tool necessary to restore it to the best guitar you’d ever played. He was so proud of his guitars. He ran a small business buying, repairing, then selling them, and he was insanely good at it. He will be honored at Mission Park at 3401 Cherry Ridge Dr on Wednesday, February 16th, with visitation from 5pm-6pm, and Celebration Of Life from 6pm-7pm. He will be laid to rest at San Fernando Cemetery II on Thursday, February 17th at 10am."
