Ralph Henry Koch
February 18, 2022
Ralph Henry Koch left his earthly life to enter into an eternal, heavenly life in the presence of our Lord and His holy angels on February 18, 2022. From an outsider’s perspective, Ralph’s life might have seemed ordinary. While he had many admirable accomplishments in his career, it was the 94 years that he lived fully for the Glory of God in every aspect of his life that sets him apart, that proves he was extraordinary. Devoted and steadfast, Ralph loved and supported his wife Eudoris in the 68 years of their marriage, inspiring others with their love. Even in her last years in memory care, his daily tender attention to her was a testament to the way Christ wants us to live and treat others. Ralph served others with a humble, generous heart in various roles in his church, where everyone was considered family and worthy of his full attention and any task he could provide. His life demonstrated a faith filled Christian role model in the way he loved and raised his children, in his relationships with family, friends, and colleagues. If you knew Ralph at all, then you knew he was special. He leaves us with a wonderful legacy of love. Ralph was born at home on June 8, 1927 in San Juan, TX one of four boys to Otto and Elma (Krumdieck) Koch. He grew up in the valley, married Eudoris in 1949 and they went to live in Colorado. Exxon moved them to Midland and lastly San Antonio. Ralph is survived by his younger brother Merlyn (Elisabeth) Koch of Harlingen, sister-in-law Sylvia Hackbarth of Ohio, brother-in-law Jim Remmert of CO, two daughters Debby (Gary) Vandergriff of Midland, Krystal (Ken) Kainer of Houston, grandkids Clayton (Jamie) Vandergriff, Travis Vandergriff, Kyle Kainer and Katelyn (Hudson) Hoyle. And recently 3 great-granddaughters: Sutton and Ellis Vandergriff and Quinn Hoyle. Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Eudoris, their son Kendall, and two older brothers Milford (Gloria) Koch and Harold (Wilba) Koch. The family will receive guests at Mission Park North Funeral Home at 3401 Cherry Ridge from 4:00-6:00pm on Monday, February 28th.
