September 19, 1948 - February 25, 2022
"Raul O. Reyna Jr. passed away peacefully in his home on February 25, 2022, where he was most comfortable and at peace. Raul was born on September 19, 1948 in Laredo, Texas. Raul grew up in El Paso, Texas and was the eldest of nine children, his brothers, Carlos, Richard, and Robert, his sisters, Laura, Norma, Elsa, Sandra and Patricia, born to Raul O. Reyna, Sr. and Maria De La Luz Reyna. He was a devoted son, who loved his parents dearly. In his younger days, he served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He then went on to become a disc jockey for many years, where he was voted number one DJ in El Paso many times for his extreme talent and great sense of humor. He put a smile on everyone that got to meet him. He later moved to San Antonio, Texas, where he followed in the footsteps of his parents, in the Driving School Industry. He believed in hard work and it shows in the legacy he left behind as a business owner of his own schools. Raul was a man that did everything he could to help others, always willing to help those in need. He fought for what was right. He was strong willed but very kind. He was someone that would remember everything about you and would call you first thing in the morning on your birthday. He was the king of his castle and enjoyed his quiet solitary life in his later years. He loved watching the birds in the early mornings before getting his boots on to start his day on his ranch. He loved ice cold lemonade in the warm summers, listening to good music in his nook and eating home made burgers made by his wife and soulmate, Liz Reyna. He was a father of six children, whom he loved deeply, Saundra, Evette, Christopher, Raul, Rebecca and Alex Reyna; a loving grandfather to Carolann, Amanda, Ashley, Alissa, Aliana, Andrew, Autumn, Emilee, Geovanny, Aranza and Marco and his great grandson, Samuel Rain. He will always be remembered for his huge spirit, unique sense of humor, booming voice and the love he gave to everyone who walked through his doors. He will be missed dearly. His funeral service is scheduled for March 14th, 2022 at 10:30AM at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, officiated by Father Larry Sergott. "
