Richard De Vera, age 53, reunited with our Creator on September 13, 2021 at University Hospital. Richard was born in the Philippines to Benjamin De Vera and Iluminada De Vera. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in the Philippines. He obtained his Masters in Nursing Leadership and Management at Capella University. He worked at University Health for 24 years and held several positions as a Transplant ICU staff nurse to Unit Nurse Manager, House supervisor, and Case Manager. His passion and dedication to his career, led him to develop and implement various initiatives that changed the way the organization provides quality, safe, and compassionate patient care. Richard is an art enthusiast and enjoys painting and photography as one of his many hobbies; an adventurous traveler exploring new places with his friends. He passionately shares his creativity in planning events for his friends and relatives, and every event has a touch of his well-curated ideas, elevated sense of style and impeccable attention to detail. He will forever be known and admired for his unique sense of humor, generosity, kindness and thoughtfulness. Richard is survived by his parents Benjamin De Vera, Iluminada De Vera, sister, Sharon Beveridge, brother-in-law, Dr. Ryan Beveridge, nephews, Ryan II, Landon, Weston, best friend, Alan Gonzales, god child, Brennan Gonzales, Mommy Lita Gonzales, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. The family of Richard wishes to extend their sincerest thanks to all friends, relatives, and colleagues whom he holds dear to his heart and who have been a part of his life. Thank you for making the family feel your presence and overwhelming love and appreciation for the life he lived so well. A son, a brother, a nephew, a tito, a cousin, a friend, a confidante, a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on- a host of roles, the same personal touch and overarching influence- everlasting- above and beyond. Our Pillar. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Sunday, 19TH of September, at Mission Park Funeral Chapels, 1401 Cherry Ridge, San Antonio, TX 78230. The family will receive friends and guests for viewing from 10AM-2PM.
