Sally Georgelle (Gabe) Hertzberg
August 5, 1935 - March 13, 2022
Sally Georgelle Gabe Hertzberg was born August 5, 1935, in Montebello, California, as she would say “got to Texas as quickly as possible” in 1950 and went home to be in the arms of our Lord and Savior on March 13, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas quietly in her sleep with Sherri Lynn and family by her side. She is preceded in death by her mother and father Edna Estelle Halsell and George Sterling Gabe, her loving husband of forty-five-years Franklin D Hertzberg, son in law Melvin Hoelscher, and granddaughter Augusta Lynn Fite. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Hoelscher, Sharon FIte, and Suzanne Davis (husband David). She is also survived by six grandchildren, Richard Hoelscher (wife Jennifer), Darlene Faulkner (husband Thomas), Sherri Lynn Smith (husband Jim), Allan Davis (wife Dianna), Patrick Fite (wife Krystal), Samantha Davis, twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. During her long and full life, she worked at Southwestern Bell, Intelogic Trace, Red Cross, Girl Scouts, and Harcourt. She was a sixty-four-year member of Siemering Lodge of Hermann Sons, and a fifty-year member of Madison Square Presbyterian Church. Through the years she volunteered for and with the lodge and church, for the dance classes at Hermann Sons, many sports teams, band and dance boosters, and for the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. Visitation is Friday March 25th, from 6-9 pm at Mission Park Funeral Home on Cherry Ridge. The funeral will be Saturday March 26th at 10:00 am at Madison Square Presbyterian Church on Camden Street immediately followed with interment at Mission Park North Cemetery on IH10.
