Simon H. Delgado

June 10, 1930 - February 22, 2022

Simon H. Delgado entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at the age of 91. He was born on June 10, 1930 in Poteet, Texas to Enrique and Ester Delgado. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Francisco and sisters Henrietta and Maria Louisa. Simon is survived by his daughters, Guadalupe Delgado and her husband Dominic Parma and Lisa Marie Delgado; sons, Oscar Delgado and his wife Anita, Roland Delgado and his wife Mary, Roger and Robert Delgado; sisters, Celia and Beatriz and brother, Benito Delgado; 24 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, 15 great great-grandchildren; and numerous other loving family members and friends. Simon learned the value of hard work and was always motivated to be financially independent. He began working at a young age delivering ice with his father. He later worked at Metzger’s Dairy delivering dairy products and meat packing companies like Roegelein and Bar S as well as being a Bell taxi driver. An entrepreneur, he became self-employed, delivering produce for 30+ years. He was well known in the heart of San Antonio. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 3, 2022 at from 5:30 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 P.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, 1700 SE Military Drive. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mission Burial Park South.
