Yolanda Jean Rose-Ramirez, 87 passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 20, 2022. She was born on July 25, 1934 in San Antonio, Texas to Alfred Rose (Bracketville, TX) and Vera (Morin) Rose (Hondo, TX). She was a 1952 graduate of Luther Burbank High School where she was a member of the Orange Jackets. She met Alfonso Ramirez and they married on January 15, 1956 with a reception at the Gunter Hotel. She was a Cub Scout den mother & she was an active CYO softball mom to her sons. She worked as an administrative assistant at Kelly Air Force base. However, the majority of her career she worked at the Veterans Administration, only taking time off after the birth of her daughter. She was a wonderful mother who would do anything for her children. Yolanda was preceded in death by her husband, “ Al”, her parents, Alfred & Vera Rose, & her siblings Alfred “Sonny” Rose Jr, and sister, Claudia “Dee Dee” (Rose) Wilson. She is survived by her son Edwin ( Gloria) Ramirez, son, Roland Ramirez, & daughter Jeannette (Scott) Lamb, one granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her hospice nurse and to all the numerous nurses, CNA’s and physicians that have assisted in her care during her time in Tyler There will be a viewing/rosary at Mission Park Funeral Chapel, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive, San Antonio, TX Wednesday March 23, 2022, from 5-8 PM. The gravesite service will be held Thursday March 24, 2022 at 9:30 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX. Flowers gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in Yolanda’s loving memory.
