Amos Ochoa Pacheco born in Elmendorf and Texas to Jesus Pacheco and Felipa Pacheco on April 7, 1926 went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2012 at the age of 85. He is preceded in death by Parents: Jesus Pacheco Sr. & Felipa Pacheco, brother : Jesus Pacheco Jr. Grand Daughter : Lisa Yvonne Munoz, Son- In - Law : Rosendo B. Leyva. Survived by his beautiful wife of 67 years, Gloria R. Pacheco, Amos O Pacheco Sr. - Gloria Pacheco, six children in order from eldest to youngest: Amos Pacheco Jr. his wife, Rosilanda Pacheco, Mary Lou Munoz, Linda Leyva, Ramon Pacheco his wife Rachel Pacheco, Joe Pacheco his wife Ana Maria Pacheco, Felipa Ann Pacheco & his adopted granddaughter / daughter, Chriselda Marie Pacheco brothers; Manuel Pacheco and Felix Pacheco, sisters; Concepcion goana and Victoria Escobedo. Numerous grandchildren. great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. and one on the way. Even if you didn't know him, if you were ever helped by a compassionate stranger right when you needed it most — then you experienced a person like Amos O. Pacheco. If you ever had a moment in your life when you were faced with fear and conquered it - then you have experienced courage like that which resided in Amos O. Pacheco. If you ever laughed so hard that your guts and head hurt, then you experienced the humor of Amos O. Pacheco. If you ever witnessed a person doing the right thing while others stood still, then you witnessed the dignity of Amos O. Pacheco. Is there someone you know who gives and truly never expects anything in return? If so, then you have also seen the humility which covered the heart of Amos O. Pacheco. If you have a person in your life who when you see or think of them, you are reminded of what good is still left in humanity - then you experienced a person like our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, friend - and World War II Veteran and purple heart recipient, Amos O. Pacheco. He will be missed but ultimately we know his spirit of fire has risen from the ashes of his body and now resides inside of the flame of love itself. We love you beyond the explanations of language. You left a powerful legacy that will last generations into a deep, long horizon. Mr. Amos O. Pacheco fought in WWII, CO I, 358 Infantry REGT, 90th Division - a part of General Patton's 3rd Army, Rhineland, Central Europe, WW II Service, 22nd of August 1944 - 25 June 1946 Purple Heart recipient for being wounded in combat along the Rhine river in Germany. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at River City Hospice, and to Osvaldo Vela for his care and compassion. Services Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South with the Rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at 12:45 pm Thursday, March 8, 2012 at San Juan Del Los Lagos Catholic Church with the procession departing the funeral home at 12:15 pm. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
