Angel C. Rodriguez, 82, went to be with the Lord on December 13, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. Angel was welcomed to this earth on May 8, 1941, to Pilar and Aurora Rodriguez in San Antonio, Texas. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and loyal friend, Angel left a lasting impact on those who were blessed enough to know him. Angel attended Fox Tech High School and graduated in 1961. He then went on to serve our country and was a proud member of the U.S. Navy and served for three years. Shortly after, Angel started his career as a civilian servant at Kelly Air Force Base a U.S. Department of Defense Base. Angel along with many of his family members and friends supported Kelly’s primary mission of ensuring the readiness and sustainability of the U.S. Air Force. Angel leaves a legacy of his commitment of service for our Nation’s armed forces. Angel subsequently retired in 1995 dedicating thirty years to the U.S. Air Force Special Weapons Division. Angel was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He loved family gatherings, food, and the oldies but goodies. We will treasure every moment we had with him, and he will continue to live on in our memories and in our hearts. He is preceded in death by both his parents and is survived by his loving and devoted wife Emma Duran Rodriguez; children Rodney Angel Rodriguez (Yvette Juarez Rodriguez) and Priscilla Ann Dupré (Eric Anthony Dupré); 5 grandchildren Desiree Nicole Rodriguez, Abigail Angel Rodriguez, Izabele Emma Marie Rodriguez, Neveah Rae Rodriguez, Dylan Patrick Dupré and 2 great grandchildren Javier Rodriguez and Santiago Marino Jaramillo and sister Olga Ortegon. Visitation will be held on Wednesday December 27, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Funeral service will take place on Thursday December 28, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. at Oblate School of Theology. Interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Disabled American Veterans at help.dav.org in honor of Angel Rodriguez.
