Dorothy Harle, 93, beloved wife and matriarch passed away peacefully on December 10, 2022. Dorothy grew up in San Antonio, attended Edison High School, Texas A&I University, Trinity University, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Texas at Austin. After graduation, she worked in accounting at Tom Slick Enterprises and Arthur Anderson prior to meeting and marrying her best friend and soulmate, Dr. Raymond P. Harle. Dorothy and her infectious smile and laughter were the light of her husband’s life for over 56 wonderful years of marriage. As the beloved mother of three precocious boys, Dorothy was very active in her children’s schools and in her community. She strongly supported her husband’s medical practice by serving as the President of the Bexar County Medical Society Alliance. She also served as a councilwoman for the City of Castle Hills for two terms and President of the Castle Hills Women’s Club and Garden Club. Additionally, she was the President of the Castle Hills Elementary School, Eisenhower Middle School and Churchill High School PTAs. She was a lover of history and an active member and officer of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, as well as the San Antonio Conservation Society. However, the group that always brought a smile to her face was her beloved L.O.L.I.T.S. (Little Old Ladies in Tennis Shoes). She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, but we take comfort that her presence will continue to be felt through her legacy of family, community work, and football wins from the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Alden and Luther Pitts, husband Dr. Raymond P. Harle, her brother L.A. Pitts, and sister Marie Williams. She is survived by her children, the Honorable Sid Harle and wife Dr. Carol Harle, Dr. Mark Harle and wife Renée, and Dr. Brian Harle. She is loved by her grand children Kimberly Harle Solis, Paul Harle, Luke Harle, Michele Kamerman and Jake Harle, as well as, her great grandchildren Nicolas Raymond Solis, Genevieve Carolina Solis, Quinn Elise Harle, Archer Longfellow Harle, John Paul Kamerman and Ava Ann Kamerman. Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Monday, December 26 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapel Cherry Ridge. Funeral services will also be held on December 27, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at Mission Park North located at 3401 Cherry Ridge, San Antonio, TX 78230.
