Loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt, Herminia “Minnie” H. Moreno went to be with the Lord on February 16, 2023, at the age of 71, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 21, 1951, in San Antonio, Texas to Guadalupe and Amalia Hernandez. Minnie courageously fought a long six-year battle against ovarian cancer. She remained strong and resilient through all that she faced, with her family always by her side. Minnie was the prime example of what it means to persevere and live by faith. She had an immense joy for life and love for her family. She was an exceptional wife and mother. Her three beautiful children were the center of her life and her biggest pride and joy. Minnie was compassionate in all that she did and had a selfless spirit. From a very young age, after losing her mother, she undertook the great responsibility of being the mother figure for her siblings and was the glue for her family. Minnie would go above and beyond for her loved ones, ensuring you were always fed the most delicious food anytime you stepped foot in her house. She had a great passion to care for others, reflecting her nurturing and loving personality. She would do anything for her family and was our biggest cheerleader and motivator. Minnie had a way to make you feel incredibly special and loved. Often, you could find Minnie traveling the world or gambling with her family. Other times, you could find her at home watching her favorite classic T.V. shows with all of her beloved dogs in her lap. Minnie was very loved, cared for deeply, and will be missed terribly. May her sparkle continue to shine through each of us. The Moreno family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Papadopoulos and his wonderful team at the START Center for their tremendous efforts and kind care for our beloved Minnie. Minnie is preceded in death by her parents Guadalupe Hernandez and Amalia Rios Hernandez; siblings Joe Hernandez and Linda Moreno; sister-in-law Dolores Moreno and brother-in-law Manuel Moreno. She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Gilbert C. Moreno; children Gilbert G. Moreno, Jr. (Liliana), David Moreno, and Molly Ann Moreno; siblings Richard Hernandez (Ophelia), David Hernandez (Elizabeth), Larry Hernandez (Isabel), Rudy Hernandez, Mary Helen Medellin (Orlando), and Eddie Hernandez (Peggy); brothers-in-law George Moreno, Tom Moreno (Rita); sisters-in-law Rachel Vanwinkle and Sylvia Gutierrez (Angelo) and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South with interment to follow at Mission Burial Park South. ***PER MINNIE’S WISHES, PLEASE WEAR HER FAVORITE COLOR, YELLOW***
