It is with great sadness we announce the sudden loss of our amazing, fun loving son Kyle Donovan Elstak, who was called home by the Lord on March 30, 2024. Kyle was born in San Antonio, Texas on December 3, 2002, to Donna and Everett Elstak and was a true blessing to all that loved him. Kyle’s life journey, though brief, was marked by his incredibly bright spirit of kindness and his strong magnetic charm that drew many to love him. Kyle’s passion for the military developed at the tender age of three and from this age on he was focused on becoming a soldier. In 2021, Kyle graduated Smithson Valley High School. During his time there, he was a member of the Smithson Valley NJROTC and quickly advanced to become the Armed Drill Exhibition Commander. While still in high school, Kyle swore into the US Army’s Split Ops program. He completed his basic training at Fort Sill as an Honor Graduate with a Letter of Commendation. After finishing high school, Kyle went on to Advanced Individualize Training at Fort Lee and finished his education for a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic 610-91B10. He then continued his military career as a E4 Specialist, US Army Reservist with Unit 217, Transportation Company at Fort Sam. In the Spring of 2022, Kyle began his academic career at Texas State University seeking a degree in Criminal Justice. He was expected to finish up his sophomore year this spring and sign up for the Texas State Army ROTC program this fall. Kyle’s quick wit, kind heart and adventurous spirit touched everyone he met. He intrigued many with his entrepreneurial qualities which included selling eraser tops at the age of 6, selling a story he wrote at the age of 10, starting a power wash business as a teen and his most recent endeavor becoming a tattoo artist. Kyle is survived and deeply missed by his loving parents, Donna and Everett Elstak, sister Lyndsay Elstak, sister Aizha Pabon, and brother Everett Elstak II. He leaves behind a loving family of aunts, uncles, niece, nephews, cousins and girlfriend Maria Lopez and many wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Velma Jackson, his maternal grandfather Christopher Jackson, his paternal grandmother, Mary Elstak, his paternal grandfather, Herman Elstak, his Aunt Letti Ramirez and his baby niece Bianca Elstak. Visitation begins at 6:00 PM, April 15 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. The funeral Mass is April 16 at 10:00 AM at St. Luke Catholic Church 4603 Manitou Dr. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery 17501 Nacogdoches Rd. The family of Kyle Elstak would like to extend a special thank you to all the family and friends for their love, support and prayers.
