Louise May Foster "Grandma Lou" The essence of Love and Family, and a mother and grandmother to all, Louise has left us for a new journey in the pursuit of her destiny. Her family was with her as she passed on December 5, 2009. She was 82 years old, and the most amazing and loyal friend anyone could have. Born in Bennettsville, SC, her nursing career and adventuresome spirit took her to places as far as Saudi Arabia, where she met her husband, Russell R. Foster. Their love of horses led them to meet in a stable where she kept her beloved Sultan. Lou and Russ were married for 34 years. Russ preceded her in death on December 14, 2002. They settled in San Antonio after Russ retired from the Air Force, both went on to work as nurses. Louise worked at numerous hospitals in San Antonio and retired from Wilford Hall Medical Center. She will be most remembered for her compassion and love for animals of all sizes. Indicative of her love for the human and animal world, she surrounded herself with four-legged companions: her cat BB, mini-horse Sparky, and Chihuahua Winston. She was a member of the Yehudi Club, a life-long group of friends who could have fun anywhere as long as they were together. Lou also sponsored a young girl from India; her donations go toward her education, clothing, and medical wellness. Louise is survived by 3 children: Russell Foster, Connie Baeza, Jill Lindley, and preceded in death by daughter Joni Foster. She has 9 grandchildren: JoAnn MacPherson, Dana MacPherson Sanchez, Samantha Fernandez, Tabitha Lindley, Michael Baeza, Cynthia Lindley, Colten Lindley, David Baeza and Ronnie Lindley; 2 great grandchildren: Mickey MacPherson and Joshua Wes Fernandez, with two more expected next year. Her brother, Dr. John May, currently resides in Bennettsville with his wife Betty and their children and grandchildren. To all friends and loved ones, please find happiness in these words she left for us: "God has blessed me with a wonderful life and I know there are still more adventures to come." She simply epitomizes a Love Affair for life and giving to a cause above self. John 15:13 reminds us that there is No Greater Love than one who gives of herself, no one gave of themselves more than Louise, thus God's best option was to call her to share her wealth of love with others in Heaven. Our loss is the Lord's enormous gain. A 2:00 p.m.Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at St. Luke's Church, 11 St. Luke's Lane, San Antonio, TX. Interment will follow at Ft.
