Michael Anthony Broadhead was a caring son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. He left this world suddenly on September 26, 2023 at the age of 26. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on November 24th, 1996 to parents David Edward Broadhead and Kathy Lynne Knipper-Broadhead. Although he was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy as a young child and the disease ultimately led to his passing, it never defined him. Michael attended Thornton Elementary School, Rudder Middle School and graduated from Brandeis High School in 2015. He was a proud Bronco and enjoyed attending football games as well as keeping up with the Brandeis Alumni Facebook page after he graduated. Michael was an extremely passionate, curious and empathetic person. He not only wanted to see and learn about as much of the world as possible, he wanted to make a difference in it. And he did. Music was something that made Michael feel alive probably more than anything. He attended many concerts throughout his life from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Linkin Park, The Offspring, Five Finger Death Punch, Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Randy Rogers Band and many more. Another thing Michael enjoyed was learning about and keeping up with space exploration. He even went to Starbase in South Padre with his dad, aunt and uncle earlier this year. A few years ago his father purchased an accessible RV and both they and other family members traveled to Palo Duro Canyon, Sedona, Tucson, Kickapoo Casino and the Grand Canyon among other places. He is survived by parents David Broadhead and Kathy Knipper-Broadhead; siblings David Alexandre Broadhead, September Broadhead, Nikahlas Knipper, Jacqueline Sanders and Jennifer Cardona; uncles John Knipper and John Haltom; aunts, Pamela Knipper and Amy Haltom; nieces, Savannah Knipper, Hazeleigh Cardona, Brooklyn Sanders, Kennedy Sanders and Eleanor Broadhead; nephews Brynnon Cardona, Cameron Sanders, Eli Guerra, Jacob Knipper and David Alexandre Broadhead II; among other family and friends. Services will take place in San Antonio and all are invited. Visitation: October 10th from 6:00-8:00 pm. Rosary: 7:00 pm (both at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North). Funeral Mass: October 11th from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Our Lady of the Atonement Catholic Church. Interment: 12:30 pm at Holy Cross Cemetery.
