Tributes

A kind, beautiful, gentle mother, grandmother, great grandmother, family member, and friend, Patsy Saathoff Tietze went to be with the lord on August 7, 2022 at the age of 84. She passed at the Methodist Hospital Texsan in San Antonio where she was blessed with amazing Doctors, nurses, and children by her side. She was born September 26, 1937, to Mildred and Roland Saathoff Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, David Coryell, nephew Dustin Coryell, son-in-law Billy Beck, and great grandson Bowen Kading. Patsy is survived by her two brothers Roland “Bubba” Saathoff Jr. (Julie), Donald Saathoff and sister Sandra Coryell, her three children Steven Tietze (Tracy), Debra Beck, Suzanne DiCambio (Matt) and grandchildren Tristan Morales (Caroline), Brenna Beck Kading (Jason), Bethany Tietze Bump (James), Brooke Beck Bergin (Trevor), Hilary Tietze Nunneley (Jacob), Courtney Tietze Nesloney (Justin), Cade Friedland and Heston Friedland and her great grandchildren Liana and Halle Morales, Briggs Kading, Hayden and Tucker Bump, Beckett and Blakely Bergin, Blane and Noah Nunneley, Steven and Sadie Nesloney and numerous loving cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. Patsy graduated from Northside High School (now Marshall HS) in 1956. She was a devoted friend and built numerous relationships to many customers and colleagues in her work at Handy Burger, a family owned business and local restaurant in Leon Valley. She also worked for Northside Independent School District and the Attorney General's office in San Antonio. She retired from the Employee Retirement System of the State of Texas. Some of her fondest memories and great friendships were made during her time as a youth leader at Zion Lutheran Church. Patsy had a loving heart and sweet soul. She valued her relationships with family and friends and sent numerous cards and gifts unique to the character of the individual recipient. She had loving nicknames for all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She treated them each in their own special way. Nicknames included Tookie, Sunshine, Starlit, Muffin, Miss Prissy, Miss Sassy, Huggy Bear, and Babycakes. Patsy was affectionate and welcoming to everyone she met. She was accepting and compassionate towards all and had a great memory of the good ol' days. Her stories and the way she valued people will be missed.
