Victoria G Pacheco, age 79, Our loving Mother and Grandmother entered into heavenly rest at her home on Wednesday October 5, 2022. She is survived by her husband, Frank G Pacheco, Sr.; her son, Frank Pacheco, Jr. and his wife Alma Pacheco; her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Pacheco and her husband, Roy Rodriguez; her grandchildren, Amber Rose Portan (Brendan), Ashley Rose Pacheco, Amy Cope (Bobby), Alyssa Lauren Pacheco, Emilee Victoria Rodriguez, Rogelio Enrique Rodriguez and Evelyn Esperanza Rodriguez; her sisters, Mary Dominguez and Alicia Aguillon; her cousin, Andres Contreras; and numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her grandson, Jason Castilleja; her parents, Concepcion Garcia and Evaristo Garcia; her brothers, Roy Garcia, Edward Garcia and Emilio Garcia; and her sisters, Marta Lopez, Eloisa Garcia and Julia Villareal. She was born on December 23, 1942 in Devine Texas. She grew up in the country, in her early years she and her family worked picking cotton and various fields. She traveled and told us stories about her adventures working as a migrant worker. She had great memories of her pet goat that she would take to school with her and tie to a tree during her school day, and enjoyed riding motorbikes through the dirt roads, playing baseball, jumping a train to catch a ride to a neighboring town not realizing the speed of the train; this grew her love of the outdoors. She came to San Antonio at the age of 16 and began employment at H-E-B Grocery Stores as a Butcherette. She met her future husband at work and at 18 years of age; she and my dad were married. He was drafted into the Army and stationed stateside, she left her job and traveled with him and resided for a time in Maryland. After his tour, they returned to San Antonio, where they started their family. She was a housewife and raised her family then began her new job at Fred's Fish Fry, where she worked for 20 plus years at many locations, with Culebra Rd. and Bandera Rd. being her longest assignments; often driving her Motorcycle to and from work, ultimately leaving the company circa 2014. Her Fred's customers loved her, and up to her final days recognized her in the community and that brought her great joy. She loved her children and grandchildren and devoted her life to caring, nurturing and helping to raise them and instilling important values. She loved our Lord and was a follower of Christ, devoting her time to prayer and testifying the Greatness of our God, and His promises of salvation and eternal life. She prayed the Most Holy Rosary every day and shared that Love and Spiritual guidance with all of us. In recent years she had health issues, hospitalizations, breast cancer and heart issues, but that did not stop her or slow her down, She would astonish Doctors and staff during her recent hospital stays with her humor, and strength. The day she was transported to surgery from the intensive care cardiac unit in December of 2021, she had the surgical staff and nurses bursting with laughter through the quiet sullen hallway of the ICU. That is who she was, a fighter, a comedian, a story-teller, Our Mother, Fix your crown, you’re the daughter of a King. As hard as it was for you to rest, Rest In Paradise. We live in the peace of knowing she lived her life everyday to the fullest and is in the arms of Our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. SERVICES Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. followed by the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Mission Park Medical Center, 8332 Fredericksburg Road. The Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 350 Sutton Drive. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery located on Allman Cemetery Lane in Devine, Texas. A Reception will follow from 1:30 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. at the St. Paul’s Community Center, 1201 Donaldson, San Antonio, Texas 78228. She also would tell me to have people wear yellow if possible, or bright colors, she did not want dark colors or black.
