Ada Ruth Dutrow Elliott Ruth was born September 26, 1920, in Buffalo, Kansas to Anderson Andy Rousseau and Mable Herb Dutrow. Ruth passed away January 26, 2013. She was the oldest of five wonderful sisters, Irene Barton of Fredonia, Kansas, Grace Potter of Winfield, Kansas, Lois Chew of Mulvane, Kansas, Vera Mae Casper of Twenty Nine Palms, California. Grace is the only living sister. Lois' husband, Orville and Vera Mae's husband Lonnie are the living survivor in-laws. Ruth went to school in Fredonia, Kansas and graduated from Fredonia High School in May 1937. The Dutrow family lived in Wichita, Kansas where Ruth worked as a secretary for many years. Ruth and her children moved to Dallas, Texas, late 1950s where she worked as a secretary. While in Dallas she married Marvin 'Jack' Elliott. They moved to Wilmer, Texas and had 29 wonderful years together, until Jack passed Febuary 14, 1996. Ruth also volunteered at the Wilmer Library. The Elliott's, along with numerous friends helped promote many city activities to include funnel cake booths for city celebrations and decorating their son Rick's truck to ride in parades. Ruth was a member of the Book Dusters club, they fellowshipped and exchanged books that they had read. Ruth was named by the Wilmer Chamber of Commerce, 'Woman of the Year' in 1987. She received a 'Certificate of Appreciation' award as an election judge in the Dallas County Elections Department. She had an unsuccessful run for Mayor of Wilmer. Ruth's seven children are Charles David Robinson and wife Judy, Lakewood, Colorado, Martha Anne Pogue Hirschey 'Marty', San Antonio, Texas, Lelia Mae Oliver, California, later of Marana, Arizona, Daniel Dean Robinson, Lake Tawakoni, Texas, Rickey Ray Elliott, Midlothian, Texas, Gay Keys and husband Jim, Monument, Colorado, and Paul Elliott Wells, Knoxville, Tennessee. Lelia and Daniel have passed on. Ruth's grandchildren: Dale Alan, Cherie Lynn; Teresa Erleen, Ricky Alvin, William 'Bill' Charles, Bobbi Ruth, Tracy Wayne; Lelia Aline, Paula Jean, Jerry David, James Ray; Cindy Joanne, Daniel Dwaine; Alan Wayne, Alvin Ray, Marvin Edward, Jamie Leigh, Kevin David; and Shauna Ruth. Ruth has numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Ruth has wonderful nieces and nephews who have remained faithful remembering her on birthdays and days where she was under the weather. Ruth left loyal friends in Kansas, whom remained faithful to her while she resided in Wilmer. In 2003 Ruth medical illness led her to numerous medical facilities in the Dallas area. Pastor Jack, Eastridge Baptist Church members, along with the Esther class, continued to be loyal to Ruth as she struggled. In addition, Ruth also had the help of wonderful neighbors, Margie Harrington, Jessie and Helen McCord, friends, and family members. Early 2004, Ruth came to San Antonio for medical care, as well as emotional support from family. While in San Antonio Ruth had the best Doctors and Health care provided to her; Dr.Dugo, Dr.Almagure, his nurse David, Dr. Abigail Barrera, Girling health, Restorative health, and Heartland Hospice. Special thanks to Kirby Baptist Church members and Pastor Clark Fooshee who embraced Ruth and cared for her as one of their own. Rosie Autry, Sue Shaw, were a part of many friends and neighbors she left in the Dallas and Wilmer that remained loyal to her while in San Antonio. Ruth received continuous support with calls, cards, flowers and gifts. The nurses and caregivers that gave Ruth special care; Jamie, Beth, Del, George, Blanca, Monica and Susan.
