Mr. Adrian Ojeda Aguillon, aged 59, of San Antonio, Texas, went to his heavenly home on the early morning of August 6, 2024, shortly before he was set to begin his daily "Good Morning Jesus!" podcast. Born on July 20, 1965, in San Antonio, Texas, Adrian was known for his amazing wit, infectious humor, and vibrant spirit. He embraced a life full of passion for God, music, singing, playing his accordion, but most importantly - Family. Adrian was a devoted God-loving Christian, beloved Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. Early on, Adrian attended St. Leo's Catholic School through the second grade. He continued his elementary, junior high, and high school education at Southside ISD. He later received his teaching certification from Palo Alto College and then his degree in Education from Texas A&M, Kingsville. His academic journey led him back to his alma mater, where he dedicated 19 years as a Building Trades teacher at Southside High School. Beloved by students and colleagues alike, he was more than a teacher - he was a mentor, advisor, a confidant, and friend, who was deeply involved in shaping the lives of many young individuals and preaching the word of God. Beyond his professional life, Adrian was deeply involved in his community and his church, Prevailing Word Church in Lytle, Texas. His love and faith in God was strong - he was a true warrior. As we remember Adrian, we honor a remarkable man whose life was a testament to unwavering faith and extraordinary resilience. Adrian, a steadfast man of God, found joy and spiritual nourishment in his weekly attendance at the Men's Bible Study and Fellowship at Prevailing Word Church every Monday evening. He blessed the meeting with worship songs and played his accordion. His larger-than-life personality and solid spiritual walk left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Despite the profound challenge of blindness, Adrian’s faith never faltered. The” Joy of the Lord” was his strength, and each day he faced was a precious gift, a testament to his warrior spirit. His courage and perseverance evident in his daily struggle to embrace life and inspire those around him. His magnetic personality drew so many people close to him who faithfully listened to his podcast every morning. “Good Morning Jesus!” Adrian's musical talents were both his comfort and his weapon. He used his gifts to write, produce, and record Christian music, creating a legacy that continues to uplift and inspire. His music was a powerful expression of his faith and his resilience, reflecting his ability to transform personal challenges into a source of strength and inspiration. Adrian was a distinguished figure in the Tejano music scene, celebrated for his exceptional talent and innate musicality. Renowned as an accordion virtuoso, Adrian's mastery of the instrument set him apart as a Tejano star. His contributions extended beyond solo performances; he played a pivotal role in numerous groups, including Los Tall Boys de Johnny Mora and Elio Quintanilla, where his accordion skills and backup vocals enriched their sound. In the vibrant San Antonio Tejano circuit, Adrian was a well-known and respected presence, who seamlessly integrated his talents into various recording sessions. His comfort and natural aptitude in the music industry underscored his enduring influence and passion for Tejano music. After he surrendered his life to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and losing his eyesight, he gave his musical talents and music back to the Lord as he began his eternal relationship with His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He dedicated all of his recordings of Christian music and songs to Jesus. In 2024, his song “El Unico” was nominated for Christian Tejano Song of the Year, by Premios Tejano Mundial (an award presented by the Tejano Music Recording Association to recognize achievements in the Tejano music industry.). This was one of Adrian's greatest accomplishments in the face of adversity, including blindness. Adrian had a countless number of dear friends and fans throughout the Tejano and Christian Tejano Music industries who will miss him tremendously. Adrian is survived by his loving mother, Evangelina O. Aguillon; his children, Emily Aguillon (Ismael S. Villarreal), Adrian O. Aguillon, II, and Clarissa Aguillon; grandchildren Eleazar A. Aguillon-Villarreal and Elianna C. Aguillon-Villarreal; siblings Alice A. Ramirez (Ernest), William O. Aguillon (Gracie), Oralia A. Casas (Ray), Severiano S. Aguillon, III (Sandy), Agnes A. Vasquez (Refugio), Evangeline Stevenson, Camille O. Aguillon, Christine A. Alanis (Onesimo), Cornelius O. Aguillon (Melissa), Eve Vialpando (Ross); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Adrian was preceded in death by his father, Severiano S. Aguillon, II, and brother Gerarde Ojeda Aguillon. The family would like to extend our gratitude to all of the doctors, nurses, medical staff, friends and family who provided Adrian with unwavering care, unconditional love, continuous support, and prayer. To all who helped him in his various times of need and for providing transportation to and from his medical appointments, to church services and his fellowship meetings. We are eternally grateful. We celebrate Adrian's legacy of faith, courage, and musical brilliance. His life remains a beacon of hope and inspiration, reminding us of the power of faith and the enduring impact of a passionate, creative spirit. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 16, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Prevailing Word Church, 4000 E. Access Road, Lytle, TX 78052. The funeral service will follow on Saturday, August 17, at 11:00 AM at the same location. Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, Cemeteries & Crematories in San Antonio, Texas, is assisting the family with arrangements. Adrian's life and legacy will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
