Tributes

Adriane went to the Lord on June 11, 2020 at the age of 60. She had been dealing with a number of significant health issues which eventually took their toll. She was preceded in death by her loving parents Paul and Barbara Duchene. She is survived by her loving husband Bob; daughter Nicole Harbaugh; daughter Elyse Harbaugh Tate and son-in-law Steven James Tate; son Robert Harbaugh and daughter-in-law Brittany Gonzales Harbaugh; grandson Greyson James Tate; sister Susan Conner, brother Bob Duchene and family. Adriane was born January 1960 and grew up in College Park, MD, graduating from High Point HS and attended the University of Maryland as a member of Beta Eta Chapter of the Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity. It was around this time in 1983 that she met her husband of 36 years, Bob Harbaugh. They married on June 2, 1984 near College Park and soon moved to Mount Airy, MD to raise their beautiful family. At this time Adriane had worked in insurance claims, and went on to in-home babysitting, and as an in-home legal transcriber for Immigrations cases for the State of Maryland while raising her children. Adriane also loved to give back to her community. She was very proud of having been a local Brownie and Girl Scout Leader in Mount Airy as well as having been a volunteer at the small Mt. Airy Methodist Church and Twin Ridge Elementary School. The family then moved to settle down in San Antonio, TX in 1998 when her husband Bob began working at Southwest Research Institute. Adriane then pursued a career with the IRS as a tax examiner, commuting to/from the Austin, TX facility, and then transferring to the San Antonio office where she worked for nearly ten years. She took an early retirement late 2018 due to growing health issues after nearly 18 years of service for the IRS. Adriane had a great smile, laugh, and a big heart. She was a beacon of joy, love, hope, compassion, and friendship to everyone who came to know her. Adriane was loved by many throughout her life and she will remain in their hearts forever with their many cherished memories. Her closest lifelong friends will remember their times of running with her in High School having some crazy fun; of the Frat parties and good times in college; of her Girl Scouting troop activities; and of the many camping trips along the East Coast with so many great families. She loved to watch Ghost adventure and Bigfoot shows on TV. She loved old classic movies and to read a good book. She loved being in the outdoors, around nature. She enjoyed cooking and welcomed everyone young and old into her casa for all kinds of friends and family occasions with love and open arm embraces. Adriane cherished every moment in her life and loved people. She was the sole mate to her husband, a great mother to her three children, and a budding Grandma to her grandson. She so wanted to be with us for the birth of her granddaughter Emma due in August. A viewing for friends and family will be held in the chapel on Friday, June 19, 2020 from 5-8:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels (Cherry Ridge Lane). A service of remembrance will also be held in the chapel on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.Flowers can be sent there as well. Everyone who would like to pay their respects is more than welcome to join us. There will be plenty of room for social distancing if so desired.
