Aida R. Rodriguez, 89, died at 2:30 a.m., Thursday, August 25, 2016 peacefully in her sleep. She was born on October 19, 1926 in San Antonio, TX to Martin and Maria De Refugio. She married her high school sweetheart Frank M. Rodriguez. They were married on April 13, 1947, celebrating 67 years of marriage before his death. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank M. Rodriguez. She is survived by her beloved children, Norma Rodriguez Ortiz, Frank Rodriguez Jr Linda, Henry Rodriguez Velma, Deacon Roy Rodriguez Aida and Lisa Rodriguez-Holguin Mario. Her treasured grandchildren were: Lucrecia, Santiago, Angela, Christopher, Clifford, Audrey, Kimberley, Richard, Daniel, Marissa, Christopher, Erica, Macedonio, Zenaida, Arabella along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Born and raised on of the Westside of San Antonio, she was a Sidney Lanier Graduate of 1942. After graduating she became a wife and mother. She quickly learned that she wanted to devote her time to her children becoming a full time housewife, serving as room mom and PTA positions for her children. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and playing with them. She was an active Parishioner of St. James Catholic Church for over 60 years. She was a member of the St. Vincent De Paul society. She volunteered providing assistance to the needy. She had great devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe and was a member of the Guadalupana Society for over 50 years. She took pride in her volunteer work, and truly enjoyed the friends she made during that time. She was very playful and witty. She enjoyed listening to music, traveling with her family on several pilgrimages to the Basilica in Monterrey, Mexico, cooking for her children, but mostly enjoyed her family. She instilled in her children a sense of pride for their faith, family, and culture. Her last days were spent enjoying visits from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and family friends. Her golden rule to live by was "Todo con Dios." SERVICES Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 28, 2016, at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church; with a 7:00 PM Rosary. Funeral procession will depart from Palm Heights at 9:30 AM for a 10:00 AM Mass on Monday, August 29, 2016, at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II
