Alene Fullerton Buck Smith, born on January 1, 1914 in Devine, Texas, to Phillip Young Fullerton and Mary Anna ONeill, passed away on August 24, 2004 in San Antonio. She resided at the Meadows Retirement Center. Alene was retired from the insurance industry where she had spent most of her working life. Alene established and was very active in the Womens Missionary Union and the Pipe Creek Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and wife whom had great patience. To keep her mind sharp and active, she enjoyed playing skip-bo with her husband Julius. Alene was a wonderful and joyous person who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her first husband, Raymond V. Buck. She is survived by her husband, Julius Smith; son, John Allen Buck and wife Claudia of Arlington, Texas; step-son, Raymond Lester Buck and wife Jane of Kerrville, Texas; step-daughters, Alice Janette Patton of San Antonio, Dorothy Buck Stark and husband David of San Antonio, Barbara Ruth Scott and husband Randy of Springfield, Virginia; grandchildren, Scott Allan Buck, Raymond Buck, Jr., Robert Buck, II, Cynthia Buck, Brian Allen Matheson, Charles Matheson, Jr., Eileen Faith Matheson, Julie Alice Bahne, Michelle Scott, Denise Annette Gross, Nancy Elizabeth Legett, Debora Jo Barry, David Stark, Jr., Beverly Jean Ingriola, Patricia Fulcher, Jenny Faye Varella, Janie Wycoff, Faith Kimberly Smith, and Sharon Anne Watkins; great-grandchildren, Cailin Buck, Nicole Buck, Raymond Lee Buck, Matthew T. Buck, Jerry Buck, Brandie Buck Terry, Lia Wycoff, Bethany Wycoff, Shannon Barry, Charlotte Barry, Gracie Stark, Micah Stark, Brianne Legett, Ford Bahne, Cole Bahne, Joy Alayna Smith, Jennifer Alice Zellner, Debra Mercino, David Varella, John Varella, James Varella, Joseph Varella, Angelique Varella, Rebecca Matheson, Chenoa Freeman, Amber Freeman, Heather Ingriola, Ashlee Ingriola, Nicholas Ingriola, Terri Jo Hartsfield, Beth Ann Netwich, Kara Fulcher, Douglas Fulcher, Rueben Fulcher, Jack Fulcher, Nancy Matheson, Alison Matheson, Sharon Matheson and Gabriella Matheson; and seven great- great- grandchildren. SERVICES Visitation will be held on Friday, August 27, 2004 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2004 at 9:00 AM at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Robert Garland officiating. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery #3.
