It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Alex Casias. He left this world on July 24, 2026 leaving behind a void that can never be filled. His departure has left us with a deep sense of loss and sadness. Alex Garcia Casias was born on March 11, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicasio and Mary Casias. Alex graduated from Southside High School and spent nearly 48 years married to his wife Orie. He lived a life full of meaningful connections and sincere friendships. He embraced every challenge with grace and faced adversity with unwavering strength. Through his role as a loving father, husband, brother, and friend, he left a legacy defined by unquestionable integrity, humility, and love. Alex left behind a lasting mark on this world with his diligent work ethic and punctuality. He spent the majority of his career at International Paper as a Machine Technician and ended his career with Bexar County Public Works. After leaving the workforce, Alex enjoyed his retirement by spending his time fishing, shopping at Academy and Northern Tools, hunting for flea market finds every Wednesday, and vacationing with his wife. Alex enjoyed life by spending time with friends, family, and taking his grandkids on camping adventures at Garner State Park. He also enjoyed cooking and secretly made the best homemade tostadas. No matter how busy he kept himself during retirement, he was always available for his family and friends. In remembering Alex, we honor the vibrant spirit that radiated from within him. He was not a man of many words, but he had a huge heart and loved his family deeply. As a devoted father, Alex, nurtured a loving and close-knit family. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Orie. As a father, he showed how selfless love can be. He was a man that showed no limits to his daughter Angela, his son Alex Gregory, his son-in-law Nick, and his four grandchildren Gregory, Andrew, Scarlett, and Constantine. Alex is survived by his 5 sisters Rosemary Gonzalez, Lillian Valero, Dorothy Brookhouser, Barbara Casias, Renee Casias, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members and countless friends whose lives were touched by his compassion. He will forever be loved and missed. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 1:00-5:00pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, 1700 SE Military Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78214, with a rosary to be recited at 3:00pm.
