Alice H. Rodriguez February 7, 1927 – May 27, 2024 Alice H. Rodriguez was born on February 7, 1927, in San Antonio, Texas, and entered eternal life on May 27, 2024, at the age of 97 years. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alexander O. Rodriguez; her parents, Eleuteria Morales and Juan Hernandez; and her granddaughter, Anne Elizabeth Rodriguez. Alice was one of seven siblings. She is survived by her brother, Jesse Hernandez, and her sister, Olga H. Montemayor, and was preceded in death by her siblings Raul Hernandez, Juan Hernandez Jr., Trinidad H. Diaz, and Rebecca H. Moran. Alice is also survived by her sisters-in-law and has reunited with numerous brothers and sisters-in-law in eternal rest. Alice leaves behind a legacy of love through her four children: Christine A. Hernandez (Carlos), Alexander H. Rodriguez (Jane), Michael H. Rodriguez (Mary Lou), and David H. Rodriguez (Sandra). Her memory will also be cherished by her ten grandchildren: Matthew Hernandez, Jacob Hernandez, Angela Rodriguez Ferrer, Alexander E. Rodriguez III, Amanda J. Rodriguez, Julianne G. Rodriguez, Melessa C. Rodriguez, David Andrew Rodriguez, and Emily Rodriguez, along with eight great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Alice was a devoted mother and grandmother, always ensuring her family never went without. She never missed celebrating a birthday, always sending a card adorned with her beautiful penmanship—a true work of art and a testament to her love and care. Alice found joy in spending moments with her loved ones, and she loved to reminisce about her days as a young girl proudly working to serve her country during World War II as a Kelly Katie. Alice was one of 10,000 women across the country who answered the call to support the war effort. She did her part at Kelly Field, completing nearly 300 hours of flight test training courses. A dedicated educator, Alice also worked as a teacher's aide and special education aide for more than a decade with the San Antonio Independent School District, where her compassion and dedication left a lasting impact on many students. Alice's warmth and faith touched everyone she met. She delighted in sharing her deep faith with others and always had the perfect prayer recommendation to send all the light and faith your way, despite the circumstance. She enjoyed cheering on the Astros as a recent fan and practicing her deep faith. The family is deeply grateful for the kindness and care provided by Jonatan Vesa and the entire team at Greenwood Home Care, as well as the nursing staff, including Ariel, Crystal Oliver, and Pinky, for their love and attention. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the dedicated hospice teams from New Life Hospice and VITAS Healthcare for their compassionate support. We are grateful for her love and care and return her to our dear Lord and her parents for her eternal rest. May the Lord’s perpetual light shine upon her. Please join us in celebrating Alice’s life.
