Amada G. Alcoser, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother entered fully into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, November 4, 2022 at the age of 87. Amada was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 13, 1935 to Cruz and Alberto Garza. Amada was born the oldest daughter of 11 siblings, but in many ways was a second mother to her younger brothers and sisters. From a very young age, she took on the role and responsibilities of ensuring her siblings were always well-taken care of and loved. It for this reason that for many years her home became the central location where her extended family members gathered for holidays and special occasions. She enjoyed every moment that she spent time with her siblings and their families. At an early age, Amada met the love of her life and husband Pedro E. Alcoser, who she married on August 31, 1957. Amada loved her husband dearly, for he was her first true love. They spent countless hours together and made family their priority. After marrying, Amada’s family grew but so did her heart for she loved her husband’s family and they loved her very much as well. Amada and Pedro bought their first home together and stayed living in the same home where they raised their son and grandchildren. They were happily married for 45 years before Pedro went home to be with the Lord. In 1963, Amada gave birth to her first child and oldest son Pete G. Alcoser III. In 1968, she gave birth to her second son Antonio G. Alcoser who passed away at birth. Amada loved her children very much. She always remembered her son Antonio and held his memory deep in her heart. Amada was inseparable from her son Pete to her very last days. Amada and her son Pete were more than a mother and son; they were best friends. Amada became a grandmother early in life and was blessed with the daughter she never had when her granddaughter April was born. She received two additional blessings when her two grandsons Pete and Ryan were born, whom she also loved greatly. Amada was more than a grandmother. She treasured her grandchildren and in many ways was a second mother who was always there when her grandchildren needed her. Amada was blessed again when she became a great-grandmother. She was extremely close to her great-grandsons Pierre, October and Luke. She loved playing with them and showering them with her warm hugs and kisses. A few years later, she was blessed once again with her great-granddaughters Leia and Dahlia. Her heart was complete and overflowing with love. Amada made the most important decision of her life when she made Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior. She made her public declaration as a follower of Christ when she was water baptized on March 28, 2012, alongside her granddaughter April. Amada had a genuine love for God and grew in her faith quickly. On many occasions, she was found reading her bible, studying the scriptures intently, or on her knees praying. Her bible still smells of her perfume and her scripture markings can be found on many of the pages. Amada was known to many for her loving and nurturing personality, but also for her quick wit and spunky character. Giving of herself to others came naturally and she would easily light up a room with her laughter and smile. For many of Amada’s family members, she was the first person who was called whenever they needed a listening ear or some loving advice. She treasured every moment that she could be a blessing to others. She had a heart of gold and was truly a Proverbs 31 woman. “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." Proverbs 31:26-29 Amada was preceded in death by her son Antonio G. Alcoser and husband Pedro E. Alcoser. She is survived by her son Pete G. Alcoser III and wife Marivel Alcoser; her granddaughter April Alcoser Luna, husband David H. Luna and great-grandchildren Luke and Leia Luna; her grandson Pete Alcoser IV, great-grandchildren Pierre and October Alcoser; and her grandson Ryan C. Alcoser, wife Jackie Alcoser and great-grandchild Dahlia Alcoser.
