Amy Lynn Gutierrez passed peacefully surrounded by family on August 4, 2024. She was born on July 17, 1968, to Ken Benavides and Bonnie Tom in San Antonio, Texas. While she called Scottsdale, Arizona home for the last twenty years, Amy loved her Texas roots and the fourteen cities she lived in, making many friends along the way. Amy attended the University of Texas San Antonio and later established her own company, Sanctuaries Interior Design. Amy was an accomplished designer, her work featured in several publications and awards. Amy was married to her devoted husband Gary Gutierrez for thirty-eight years, soulmates perfectly balancing each other in every way. Amy and Gary welcomed their daughter Tabitha shortly after marrying and they became an inseparable trio. Amy was an incredible mother always there for Tabitha, her best friend, who grew to be her twin in many ways. Amy also deeply loved her son-in-law, grand-daughter and grand-dog, Steve, Lula Amy, and Percy Jackson; brother, and sister-in-law, Troy, and Nikki Benavides; and numerous nieces and nephews. Amy made an impact on so many people as she was known for her strength, humor, wit, passion for life and sense of adventure. She was an incredible wife, mother, grandma, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend and will continue to be our guardian angel from Heaven. SERVICES Join us in celebrating the life of Amy. We will be gathering to share stories, memories and find comfort together as Amy’s friends and family. The family requests that guests wear vibrant, happy colors and jeans to honor Amy’s life and personality. Suits are not required! VISITATION Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 5:30pm-7:30pm. For those who are Catholic and wish to attend, a rosary service will be held prior from 5:00pm-5:30pm at Mission Park Dominion Chapel. FUNERAL Friday, August 23, 2024, at 12:00pm at Mission Park Dominion Chapel, with interment to follow at Mission Burial Park North Dominion.
