In Loving Memory of Angela Acosta Angela Acosta entered eternal rest on April 30, 2026. She was born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico and spent her early childhood there before moving with her family to Laredo, Texas, where she spent her formative years and met the love of her life, Rufino Acosta. They were married in October 1961 and shared 64 wonderful years together, building a life grounded in love, faith, hard work, and devotion. Together, Angela and Rufino moved to San Antonio, Texas, where they raised their family and built their future. Rufino always had goals for a better life, and Angela was the steady anchor beside him, helping guide and support every step of the way. While she first dedicated herself as a stay-at-home mother, she later joined her husband in business. From a small snack bar at Judson Candy Company to several food service locations, they worked side by side until retiring from the Federal Building Cafeteria after 25 years. Rufino often said everything he had was because of Angela, as she was his right hand in both life and business. Angela was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother. She was actively involved in her children’s school activities, sports, and band, always their biggest cheerleader. She was admired and loved by many for her kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others. Her greatest joy was her family. She loved family barbecues, karaoke nights listening to her loved ones sing, gardening, shopping, and scratching lotto tickets—simple joys that brought her happiness and created lasting memories for those around her. Angela was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Benito Aguirre, Evangelina Aguirre, Josefina Hernandez, Ana Maria Martinez, Jesus Aguirre, Margarita Aguirre and Isidro Aguirre. She is survived by her loving husband, Rufino Acosta; her children, Maria Angelica Ritz (John G. Jr.), Alma Gomez (Daniel), Alberto Acosta (Ana Lisa), Richard Acosta (Geraldine), and Andrew Acosta; her grandchildren, Sean Ritz, Jordan Ritz, Cassandra Cantu, Roxanne Gomez, Daniel Gomez III, Thomas Gomez, Adric Acosta, Aaron Barbosa, Lauren Leyva, Richard Acosta Jr., and Arya Acosta; her great-grandchild, Sophia Cantu; and many other loving family members and dear friends. Angela’s legacy of love, strength, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m., at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. A funeral procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026, for a 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph South San Catholic Church. Services will conclude at the church.
