Angelita L. Flores was born to Maria Sosa and Justino Lopez in Concepcion del Oro Zacatecas MX, October 2, 1926. She passed away peacefully with her children by her side, March 27, 2024. She is preceded in passing by her husband of 71 years, Rev. David G. Flores; her sisters, Rosenda Padrón and Andrea Acosta; and her grandchildren, Kevin Flores, and David Flores III. Angelita is survived by her daughters, Delia Anna (Mario) Villarreal, Diana Lynn (Jesse) Mendez, and Sylvia Ann Soto; her sons, David “Tino” Flores, Jr. and Hector (Maria) Flores; her grandchildren, Hector Flores, Jr., Andrew Eric Flores, Dana Michelle Lopez, Justin Mario Villarreal, Jeremy Jesse Mendez, JefferyJordan Mendez, Joshua Josiah Soto, and Ashley Nicole Osti as well as 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. In 1945, Angelita met the love of her life, Rev. David Flores where he was a Pastor at El Buen Pastor Asambleas de Dios church in San Antonio TX. This was the beginning of a beautiful love story. She served as a pastor’s wife along with her husband in many ministries within the church to include children’s, youth, men’s and women’s ministries. Also was involved in church sports, even broke her wrist playing volleyball. She loved music. She always had Christian music playing at home and in the car. She was very musically talented. She played piano, guitar and accordion, but her favorite instrument to play at church was the “tambourine”. She loved vacationing in Colorado and the coast with the entire family but always invited anyone and everyone who wanted to come along. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She loved Christmas and decorated her home with as many decorations as she could. She would dress up and wear her jewelry for every holiday to include Christmas , Easter, 4th of July and, Thanksgiving , etc. She loved turtles, collected turtles and everyone would give her some type of turtle memorabilia. She laughed all the time. If someone would mess up or say something wrong, she WOULD laugh at you. Once she started giggling she could not stop. She loved shopping, boy did she love shopping! She had so many shoes and dresses that she could’ve opened a store. Her last words to her daughter Delia and Son “Tino” were “Hijos, ganen muchas almas para el Seńor porque Cristo viene pronto. Sean Fiel hasta la muerte!” (Children, Win many souls for Christ, because Jesus is coming and be faithful until the end) Angelita has fought the good fight, has finished the race and is with our Heavenly Father rejoicing and no more pain. “Thank you Vitas Hospice for the excellent care”.
