BARRY Ann Elizabeth Barry, age 81, left this earth on September 11, 2005. At peace and surrounded by loved ones, she went to be with our Lord and her beloved husband, Joseph V. Barry, Sr. Ann was born in New York City to James and Rose Gouldie and raised in Jersey City. In 1949 she married the love of her life and moved to Texas. She was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church Altar Society, VFW Post 4815 Ladies Auxiliary, Shoestring Club of New Jersey, parishioner of St. Benedicts Catholic Church, a member of her bunco club for over 40 years and a member of numerous bridge clubs throughout the years. Ann was co-owner of the Terrell Wells Community Center Grocery Store, General Manager of Railroad Salvage of San Antonio and longtime employee of Smith Chevrolet. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed being together with her family, especially at the beach house at Indianola, TX, and the warmth of her pet companions, Buffy and Friskee. She is preceded in death by her two brothers, David and George Gouldie. She is survived by eight children, Jo Ann and Mario Saenz, of Humble, TX, Thomas and Billie Barry, James and Debbie Barry, Joseph Barry Jr., Tim and Josie Barry, Regina and Dominic Palmer, Michael Barry and Debra Lopez, and Rita and John Leyva, all of San Antonio. She is also survived by grandchildren: James Saenz and wife Brandy, Lawrence Saenz, Vanessa Reyna and husband Dan, Elizabeth Barry, Anna Barry, Jeremie Perez, Matthew Barry, D.J. Balderas and wife Roxanne, Patrick Barry, Sean Barry, Roseann Palmer, Nicholas Leyva and Natalie Leyva, and great-grandchildren Stephen Reyna, Isabelle Reyna, Dayton Balderas, Daysia Balderas, Daven Balderas, Patrick Barry, Jr. and numerous nieces, nephews and friends, and special niece, Kathy Gouldie Brown. SERVICES Visitation will be held from 12:00 5:00 PM on Tuesday, September 13 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Tuesday at St. Benedicts Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 14 at St. Benedicts Catholic Church with interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
