HARIG-DYAR Anne Fisher Harig-Dyar, known to family and friends as "Aggie", born June 15, 1925 in Westminster, Maryland, the youngest child of Charles Nohe Fisher and Marie Osborne Fisher, both of Washington, D.C, passed from our limited sight, May 2nd, 2010. Anne attended St. Johns Catholic School in Westminster, Maryland. Anne and family relocated to Shreveport, Louisiana in 1954. Beloved Mother, wife and homemaker, she was involved with St. Joseph's Catholic Church, was a Lector in Beginning Experience, Girl Scout Leader for 13 years, Volunteers of America Facilities and St. Ann's Home. Anne had entrepreneurial spirit before it was fashionable! She had the first franchise with Fiber-Seal fabric care system in the United States, often requested as guest speaker for corporate events as a motivational trainer. Member of the Caddo Cruising Club, traveled to London, France, Italy, Canada, and extensively in the United States, feeding her curiosity and love of the land and people. She was always there for anyone who sought her out for her quiet wisdom or if they needed her help: whether it was a shoulder to cry on, as a great listener, as problem solver or for her wonderful quick wit and laughter. Her positive attitude reflected the strength of heart that she shared with family, friends and strangers. She surely earned the heavenly reward that we all hope to obtain. She now watches over us and will be able to see the important role she played in so many family and friends lives. Her Philosophy of life was, 'The Glass is Always Half Full" Preceded in Death by husband Joseph Bernhardt Harig III, Andover, Massachusetts, who passed away in 1976; her second husband Charles Dyar, of Pinoa, Texas; son Joseph Bradford Harig and twin daughters who died at birth. Cheryl Rummer Harig, mother of grand-children Alison Harig and J.R. Harig II. Anne is survived by daughter Patricia Anastasia Gentle, of Silverthorne, Colorado and partner Wil Roddy; son John Randolph Harig and wife Kay Glass Harig, of San Antonio, Texas; grandson Jack Harig Gentle and wife Debbie Gentle, of Carlsbad California; grandson Joseph Benjamin Gentle and wife Britta Bennett Gentle, of Denver, Colorado; granddaughter, Alison Harig Morris and husband Scott Morris, Haughton, Louisiana; grandson John Randolph "J.R." Harig II and wife Audrey Cox Harig; step-grandchildren Helen Kathryn "Kay Kay" Gough and Jenness Suzanne Gough; great-grandchildren Samantha Christine Gentle, Joshua Benjamin Gentle, Thomas Reagen Morris, Jade Bennett Gentle and Andrew Joseph Morris; brother Charles Osborne Fisher, of Westminster, Maryland; two sisters Margret Fisher Vogel, of Fairfield, California, and Elizabeth Fisher Mathias, of Westminster, Maryland; niece Barbara C. Nagle, of Huntsville, Alabama, Kay Vogel Green, of Fairfield, California and numerous nieces and nephews from Westminster, Maryland. SERVICE The family will receive visitors Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North in San Antonio, Texas. A visitation will be held Friday, May 7, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 7:00PM with a Vigil to be held at 7:00 PM at Osborn Funeral Home in Shreveport, Louisiana. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 12:00 PM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Shreveport, Louisiana with Father Richard J. Lombard officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery on St. Vincent Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association .
