Annell Elizabeth Kelly Kunz, 74, arrived in the loving arms of our Lord, on March 4, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 8, 1950, in Pocahontas County, West Virginia, to Frances Ann Barker Kelly and Bernell Clark Kelly. Annell shared a very special bond with her husband of 53 years. Meeting as teenagers, their courtship was filled with many tender moments—from going to the movies and school dances to spending time with friends. By the time they married in 1972, they had built something strong: a love rooted in friendship, admiration for each other, and the desire to build a life together, which included starting a family. Annell loved her daughters and dedicated her time to teaching life lessons, being a homeroom mom, and patching up boo-boos. She enjoyed every minute of being a mom and especially cherished the upgrade when she became a grandma. Annell adored all three of her granddaughters and would often proudly share their accomplishments with anyone who would listen. Annell enjoyed crocheting, reading, and cooking special meals for her family. She especially loved baking during the holidays, filling her home with warmth and the sweet scents of her creations. She was warm-hearted and nurturing, with an infectious laugh that could bring a smile to anyone’s face. She never knew a stranger and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. To many of her daughters’ friends, she was like a second mom—offering advice, lending an ear, and comforting them in times of need. She is survived by her husband, Larry T. Kunz; her daughters, Kathleen Jeannette Cabrera (Ray) and Rebecca Ann Kunz (Ryan); her granddaughters, Emily Marie Cabrera-Perez (Noe), Brenna Cabrera, and Rylee Cutler; her beloved grand puppies and kitties; her sisters, Jeanne Ulrich and Janie Barreira; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom will forever cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Ann Barker Kelly, her father, Bernell Clark Kelly, and her sisters, Ethel Mae Moody and Jimmie Ann Doss. Her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and those who knew her, as her generous spirit, compassionate nature, and lasting kindness continue to inspire and comfort all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warm smile, thoughtful advice, and readiness to help others created cherished memories and established a standard of love and care that will be passed down through generations.
